The Michaux Conservancy is the Local Project Implementation Team
Lead for the
Place Matter’s Ecosystem-Based Management Demonstration Project
(Packard Grant) which integrates Ecosystem-Based Management and
decision process tools to analysis coastal hazards and community
vulnerability.

Michaux is also a Primary Education member for the Ashley-Cooper
Stormwater Education Consortium that supports EPA National Pollution
Discharge Elimination System II public involvement and public education
requirements for communities that do not treat their stormwater.

This past year, Michaux received a Community Forestry Financial Assistance Grant through the South Carolina Forestry Commission to survey 75 acres around Noisette Creek for native and invasive plants and trees. Also through the grant, the Conservancy was able to create educational materials for middle and high schools within North Charleston as well as for the general public on display inside the Michaux Center.
